About
GP-74 "Marine Dream"
Driver: Rob Hall
Crew Chief: Bruce Brown
Team Manager: Steve Voigt
Owner: Rob Hall – Marine Dream Racing
Boat Name: “Premonition”
Rob Hall’s radically designed Grand Prix Hydroplane was built by Staudacher Hydroplanes in Kawkalin, Michigan and made its debut at the Soap Lake Regatta in June of 2015.
The new design required some R&D and the team made rapid progress with the boat showing a lot of promise. By the end of July and the running of the Columbia Cup in the Tri-Cities, Hall and the boat were qualifying and racing with the GPW front runners.
A blow over accident on the long, windy backstretch brought development to a stop and badly damaged the boat, requiring extensive rebuilding to the left side. The boat returned to action in San Diego in September.
Hall founded the Marine Dream Racing Team in 2005 and - prior to building the new boat in 2015 - was the 2.5 Liter Modified National High Points Champion, Babcock Award Winner and Western Divisional Champion in 2007 and 2008.
Rob and his wife Mary live in Sandpoint, Idaho and have a Daughter Nicholia Clark and a grandson Colton Clark.
